Peace lilies are not only known for their large, shiny, dark green leaves and delicate, white, spathe-like flowers that rise above the foliage on tall spikes but also for their pleasant fragrance, which makes them a popular choice for offices and homes.

Aside from the aesthetics, they are low-maintenance plants, making them a popular choice among seasoned and novice plant parents.

FAQs

When you notice that the leaves of your plant are yellowing or drooping, it could be a sign of underwatering or overwatering. It's important to only water the plant when the top layer of soil has completely dried out. When watering, make sure to do so thoroughly and allow any excess water to drain out of the pot's drainage hole. Avoid keeping the plant in standing water, as this can lead to root rot.

Peace lilies are generally hardy and can tolerate some drought, but inconsistent watering can lead to stress and result in yellow leaves and crispy edges. In addition, a lack of essential nutrients like nitrogen, iron, or magnesium can also cause yellowing, a condition called chlorosis. To fix this issue, fertilisation is recommended.

If the plant is exposed to too much direct sunlight, it can start to dry out, turn a pale bleached color, and wilt. Try moving your plant farther away from windows to a spot where it will receive only indirect light to help it rebound. On the other hand, if your plant is getting too little light, it can't properly achieve photosynthesis, which can lead to yellowing leaves and no flowers. Consider moving the plant closer to a window or providing additional artificial light to help it thrive.
